I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology at the University of Maryland, College Park. Funded by NIH NICHD Diversity Supplement, I explore factors that shape children’s language environments and development with Dr. Rachel Romeo at the Language, Experience, and Development (LEAD) Lab.

I completed my Ph.D. in Education at the University of Delaware in 2023, where I worked with Dr. Roberta Michnick Golinkoff at the Child’s Play, Learning, and Development Lab. I received my B.A. in Psychology at the University of California, Merced.

Grounded in the Family Language Policy theoretical framework, my research program examines how caregivers’ beliefs about language learning and language practices shape children’s cognitive development. I employ multiple behavioral and observational methods including questionnaires, interviews, direct assessments, semi-naturalistic in-lab play interactions, and language sampling from day-long naturalistic recordings. Ultimately, my research aims to support children from linguistically and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds through context-specific models of development.
